Punjab Education Department Announces Teaching Jobs for 2025.
The Punjab government has announced a new policy to recruit 12,500 School Teacher Interns (STIs) for government schools across the province. These interns will focus solely on teaching and will not be involved in running afternoon schools or administrative tasks. This initiative follows the model used for hiring College Teaching Interns (CTIs) in public colleges by the Higher Education Department.

Recruitment Process
The recruitment process will commence shortly. The Punjab Government has issued guidelines stating that these teaching positions are temporary and will remain active until permanent teachers are recruited for the vacant posts. The recruitment will be conducted with the approval of the Deputy DEO, AEO, School Head, and School Council.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify as a School Teacher Intern:
- Primary School: Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree along with a professional teaching degree.
- Middle, High, and Higher Secondary Schools: Candidates must have a Master’s degree and a professional teaching degree.
- M.A/MSc/BS Honours degree
- Age limit should be between 21 to 45 years.
- Candidates with teaching experience will be given preference.
- Minimum level of education should be B.A/B.Sc or above.
Interns cannot be transferred to other schools or be offered a permanent job. After completing the internship, a certificate will be awarded.
Merit-Based Selection
Selection will be based on academic performance, with a minimal weightage of five marks for interviews. Candidates must be local to the district where they apply.

A special online portal will be created for candidates to submit their applications in their respective districts. The merit list will be displayed at the Deputy DEO office, on the online portal, and on school notice boards.
